Nurseries
Watering system or hand held hose with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle may be used for two hours per day between 7am to 8am and 6pm to 7pm.
Vehicle Cleaning (Private or Commercial)
A vehicle may only be washed and rinsed by means of a bucket filled directly from a tap. Commercial and Industrial car wash can be used using town water.
Public Areas Controlled By Council
Outside watering for 2 hours per day between the hours of 8.00am and 10.00am each day.
Sports Grounds
There are exemptions for some sports grounds. Playing surfaces of sports grounds can be watered with exemptions adopted by Council. Monash Park playing field can be watered between the hours of 8am to 10am. The Cricket Pitch area may be watered using a hand held hose with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle when preparing the playing pitch.
Swimming Pools and Spas (Residential & Commercial.)
No filling of new pools or spas with town water. Topping up of existing pools and spas allowed using hand held hose with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle. Alternate water sources may be used.
Garden Ponds
Topping up of garden ponds with a bucket filled directly from a tap allowed.
Dams and Tanks
Dams, tanks or like containers must not be filled or have their water added to or replaced unless the water is to be used for in-house domestic, stock, fire fighting purposes or with written permission of the Council.
Construction Industry
Only a hose fitted with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle may be used during the construction or repair of any building or works.
Cleaning Paving, Concrete and other hard surfaces
Cleaning of hard surfaces for health and safety reasons and only when dirt and debris cannot be removed without water; allowed only then by means of a bucket, hand held hose fitted with a trigger ON/OFF nozzle or pressure washer.
Mobile Water Tankers
A tanker permit from Council is required. Tankers with permits may fill at any time if the water is to be used for fire fighting, construction, in house use, stock watering, crop spraying or public health reasons.
Essential Services / Commercial Enterprises
The Council may consider granting further exemptions in instances that provide continued community benefit or would cause financial hardship. Any such exemptions would be on the basis of the applicant demonstrating that they have implemented stringent water saving measures.
Water supplied to premises must not be:
Taken away from the supplied premises or used contrary to a Council notice restricting water use.
Exemptions
Commercial Enterprises / Essential Services may be granted an exemption if they can demonstrate financial hardship or a community benefit.
Applications for Exemptions
Applications for temporary or permanent exemptions must be made on the Water Restriction Exemption Request form available from the Shire Office or the web site http://www.jerilderie.nsw.gov.au/ or in a letter addressed to the General Manager.
Exemptions can be considered, amended or revoked at any time.
