Your council
This Council is well known as a progressive rural Council. One of the smaller NSW Councils, it is highly regarded for the instigation of its profitable private works programme. The Jerilderie Shire Local Government Area is located in the southern Riverina and shares its boundaries with Urana, Berrigan, Conargo and Murrumbidgee Councils.
With recent amalgamations, it is now the second smallest Council in NSW.

History
Jerilderie Shire Council was declared in 1918 after the amalgamation of the former Municipality of Jerilderie (1889 - 1918)and Wunnamurra Shire (1906 - 1918).Today the Shire has a resident population of approximately 1,950.
